It was just too cool for BB's Nikki

Airway Air Conditioning has had a long association with the makers of Big Brother (Endemol UK) - we've been the official air conditioning suppliers to the show for several years. Each series brings us new challenges and interesting views, none more than during BB7 in the summer of 2006.

Nikki a 24 year old from Middlesex entered the BB7 house not quite knowing that she would become famous for one thing and one thing alone. And no, it's not her passionate affair with fellow contestant Pete. It was THE AIR CON !!

Nikki was totally averse to the chilled air provided by Airway and set off on many of her famous rants against BB for the internal tempreture. "I'm too cold" she would moan.

At one point she asked BB in the Diary Room "Whooo invented Air Con?" Well Nikki, it was a gentleman called Mr W Carrier. And yes Nikki we did install all the systems in the house. But Nikki, we do not control it. The producers have a main control panel and change the tempreture as and when they want to... not when you demand.

Perhaps if she'd worn a few more clothes it might have helped. Fellow housemate Richard had her card marked, as the following extract from the BB7 website shows:

Wednesday 16 August

Day 91, 00:10 A hot and bothered Richard tonight wiped away the sweat to storm the Diary Room to demand an immediate climate change in the House. Such was his desperation, he even declared he was ready to deal with a temperature-related tantrum from a certain volatile blonde.

"I have probably asked this about ten times today - can you please put the air con on in the entire House? It is okay with everyone, with the exception of Nikki. I love the woman to bits, but I'm starting to get very frustrated," he sighed. "I don't understand why this woman constantly feels the need to turn this place into a sauna and then turns around to complain that's it's cold when the air con's on when all she wears is a plaster for clothing."

The Canadian took time to draw breath before suggesting a solution: "She can just use duvets and cover up or put some articles of clothing on to help with that." Precise instructions for reconditioning the air, rather than Nikki, were then delivered to Big Brother: "Breezy cool in the bedroom - it's muggy hot in there."

Ominously, he revealed he was ready for any warfare: "If she stomps and screams, I'll deal with her."
