External Daikin VRV plant
Dalair AHU
Here at Airway Air Conditioning we've always prided ourselves on our flexibility, quality and ability to adapt to our clients' needs.
From small single unit installations, to very large and major projects. From conception, through design into installation and testing / commissioning we can always be trusted to achieve your requirements.
So we relished the challenge when we received a major design brief for the Government's Land Securities department for a large brand new building. We were given very exacting standards were set for air quality, cooling and heating loads.
We undertook this major £300K project to design, supply, install, test and commission 8 Daikin VRV systems serving a total of 68 fan coil units. Additionally four large 12.5 kW systems were also installed into the IT comms room area.
Using Dalair equipment we also installed a 4.8 m3/sec Air Handling Plant with Plate Heat Exchange facility to provide the required 12 litres of fresh air per person/per second.
This 16 week project was started in the middle of a cold spell and our poor on-site engineers had only the building shell for protection. There was a roof, but no windows!
There was a tight timescale to complete this project. This meant all trades (builders, electricians, plumbers, data and ourselves) cooperating well together, and putting in long hours.
An added compication was a change to the design brief after six weeks of on-site work! Additional Daikin Fan Coil Units were required, an upgrade of the Dalair AHU was needed and pipework services and ductwork also needed modification. Yet despite this, we still completed our work within the allowed time.
Since completion of this project, the main contractor (Watson & Cox) have called-in Airway to help with further projects. It's nice to have another satisfied client.
